The IQ has a small footprint and also a self-emptying function. If you'd like to change the floor level or set zones that aren't allowed, you'll have to manually reset the map.
The IQ's application has advanced mapping and automation capabilities but it's missing no-go zones which are included on iRobot models. Its smart-pathing navigational system results in greater maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode cleans well, but it does have a tendency to get caught up on rug tassels. Additionally, its iHome speaker allows you to operate the robot by voice commands.
In our tests, the IQ was able to handle pet hair well, clearing an impressive amount of debris from floors with no flooring and moderate amounts from medium-pile carpet. It was a little less effective on shag carpet, where it struggled to get at dirt and dust that was embedded in the fibers. It was able navigate the legs of chairs, small spaces as well as the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. We did notice it was a bit slower on floors that were not paved but it quickly recovered and performed more thoroughly than other robots we tested.
The IQ is a better choice over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most applications. It has a larger dustbin and lasts longer on charge, and is more capable of getting over obstacles. It also has mopping attachments that can handle sticky messes. On the other side the iRobot feels better-built and has fewer parts that require replacement or maintenance and incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance, and can create virtual no-go zones using its companion app. It is able to even resume the cleaning process from where it left off if it runs out of battery before finishing the job. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice, which can be a big plus for many users.
Eufy 11S
The eufy RoboVac 11S robot vacuum isn't one of the most features-rich models, but it provides excellent cleaning power for an affordable price. The RoboVac 11S is designed for consumers with a tight budget who don't need a complex mapping system, or an app, to control it. The robot can run for more than an hour and comes with the remote, a cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base and extra filters.
The 11S is slim and sleek and has a tempered-glass upper deck that looks like polished aluminum. It's a refreshing departure from the industrial and utilitarian designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.
The eufy11S did well in our tests to remove larger debris and fine dust from floors. However, it was unable to give medium and high pile carpets a thorough clean. The device is prone of bumping into furniture and people in its path. However, it is able to detect obstacles with sensors. When it comes across them, it halts and emits an alarm so that you can manually guide it around the obstacle and then get it back to work.
Another great feature of the eufy11S is its BoostIQ mode, which allows you to set the robot to automatically adjust its suction strength to match the floor type and level of the mess. The remote control makes it simple to direct the 11S to your desired location.
If you don't have much furniture in the space where you're looking to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent alternative. The eufy will take 30 minutes focusing on cleaning the space it's assigned to.
